The private and small-group tours (private tour of the Alhambra, Alhambra plus Albaicín and Sacromonte in a small group, and the private tour with Albaicín and Sacromonte) each also have their own page, with price, duration and what is included.
With these Alhambra of Granada tickets, the route changes depending on the option you choose, but in every case it's worth first understanding which part of the complex you'll be visiting. The general ticket grants access to the largest part of the monument, with the Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba, Partal and Generalife. The gardens ticket covers the outdoor, landscaped part of the site, without access to the Nasrid Palaces.
If you enter with the general ticket, the most recognisable part of the tour is usually the Nasrid Palaces, home to the best-preserved palatial section of the Alhambra. From there, the visit continues with the Alcazaba, where you learn about the site's defensive role, and the Generalife, linked to the estate, orchards and gardens. You'll also pass through areas such as the Partal, which help you better understand the layout of the complex.
If you choose the gardens option, the visit is more focused on the outdoor part of the monument. Here the route takes in the Generalife, the Cypress Walk, the historic gardens, the Secano and other open areas of the site, plus the visitable part of the Alcazaba. It's a good option if you want to explore the Alhambra without entering the Nasrid Palaces and focus on the landscaped, scenic part.
If you also book a guided tour, the visit is organised around the time slot assigned for access to the Nasrid Palaces, helping you better understand the relationship between the military section, the palatial section and the gardens. In that case, the full tour usually also includes the Palace of Charles V and the Secano, so the complex reads not just as a palace, but as a palace-city with defensive, residential and ceremonial functions.
The cancellation and change policy for this visit differs from that of our other tours because Alhambra tickets are personalised and fully tied to each visitor's ID documents. For that reason, once issued, they cannot be changed.
If you need to change the date of your visit, you would need to pay again for the ticket, as that initial cost cannot be recovered. And if the booking is cancelled, the amount paid is not refunded. Check the date, time and names carefully before paying.
With your Alhambra of Granada ticket, it's worth planning your visit around the season and time slot. The official opening hours for the daytime visit are 8:30 am to 6:00 pm from 15 October to 31 March, and 8:30 am to 8:00 pm from 1 April to 14 October. The ticket offices open at 8:00 am in both periods.
If you book the general ticket, there's one key point that shapes the whole visit: entry to the Nasrid Palaces must take place at the exact time shown on your ticket. In addition, the Board recommends buying in advance due to high demand, and reminds visitors that tickets for individuals can be purchased online until 11:59 pm the day before the visit.
Before entering, check your chosen option carefully, arrive with plenty of time, and bring the required ID if the booking calls for it. For children under 12, admission is free, but the ticket must be issued at the same time as the rest of the group's.
Buy your Alhambra of Granada ticket by first choosing the option you need and then the available day and time. Once your booking is complete, you'll receive by email a voucher with all the relevant information for the day of your visit, including the meeting point, location map, route description and schedule. Just show it to your guide from your phone.
If you'd like to visit independently, you can choose the official option that best suits your plans. If you'd rather have your visit organised, you can also book a guided tour and select the option that best fits the part of the Alhambra you want to see, the type of route and the available schedule.
Alhambra tickets can be purchased on the monument's official website. If you'd rather have your visit already organised, you can also book a guided tour with tickets included, which many people choose because official tickets do not include a guide.
The most common options are the general ticket, the gardens ticket and a few others. General ticket: access to the full complex with the Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba and Generalife. Gardens ticket: a route through the Generalife, gardens and outdoor areas, without access to the Nasrid Palaces. Night visits: night-time access to the Nasrid Palaces or the Generalife, depending on the option. Alhambra Experiences: combines a night visit and a daytime visit over two days. Dobla de Oro: combines the Alhambra visit with other Andalusi monuments in Granada. And if you'd rather have the tour explained for you, you can also book a guided tour with tickets included and choose the option that best fits your plans.
The main guided tour lasts around 3 hours. During that time you'll explore the parts of the Alhambra open to the public, with access to the Generalife, Alcazaba, Nasrid Palaces and Palace of Charles V.
It includes admission to the monumental complex and a 3-hour guided tour through all the areas open to the public. For groups of more than 6 people, an audio system with radio guides and headsets is also provided to better follow the explanations.
Yes, you can visit independently by buying the monument's official ticket. A guide is not required to enter. If you'd like a set itinerary with commentary during the visit, you can book a guided tour with tickets included.
Accessibility is fairly limited. If you use a wheelchair or a pushchair, keep in mind that the full route cannot be completed. The Alcazaba area cannot be seen by wheelchair, and both the Generalife and the Nasrid Palaces can only be visited in a reduced way. In addition, the guide recommends avoiding pushchairs and using a backpack or baby carrier instead.
Official Alhambra tickets sell out well in advance, especially those for the Nasrid Palaces. If a date shows no availability in the calendar, there are no places for that day. You can try another day or time slot, or choose a tour without the Nasrid Palaces (Generalife, Alcazaba and Palace of Charles V), which may be an alternative. It is best to book as far ahead as possible.
The entry time for the Nasrid Palaces is fixed: it is printed on the ticket and you must arrive within that slot. The rest of the site (Generalife, Alcazaba, Palace of Charles V) can be visited from 8:30 until closing time. On guided tours, the booking voucher shows the tour schedule.
Children under 12 do not pay for the official Alhambra ticket, but their ticket is issued at the same time as the others and they must be included in the booking. On our guided tours, rates for children and young people depend on the tour and are shown on each tour's page.
No. Alhambra tickets are personalised and cannot be changed or cancelled once issued, and the amount is not refunded. If you need another date, you have to buy the ticket again. Check the date, time and names carefully before paying.
You must bring the original ID document (national ID card or passport) of each visitor. It must match the one used for the booking, because tickets are personalised, and it is checked at the access controls.
It depends on the tour. The guided tour with the Nasrid Palaces, the combined tour with Albaicín and Sacromonte (also in a small group), the Granada Card tour and the private tour with Albaicín and Sacromonte include entry to the Nasrid Palaces with its time slot. The Generalife, Alcazaba and Palace of Charles V tour does not include them. Tickets are not included in the private tour of the Alhambra.
